No commission. Ever.
The no-BS booking app that lets independent stylists run their whole salon from their phone — and keep every penny they earn. Flat fee, zero commission, your clients stay yours. Booking, payments, reminders, reviews — the lot.
Out of the box
An independent studio building apps that come from real problems — not feature requests. Made by a working wedding photographer, for people who'd rather get on with their day than fight their tools.
The portfolio
No subscriptions you forget about. No dark patterns. Each one built around a real workflow until it actually worked.
No commission. Ever.

Every family photo. Nailed.
The family-formals app for wedding photographers. Build the group-shot list once, share a QR code, and let the couple sort the who's-who before the day — so you shoot every combination in half the time, and never miss Auntie Sue again.
The game, figured out.
An interactive pitch that teaches kids football. Tap a player, learn their job, beat the quiz, unlock a mini-game. Built for a left-winger named Charlie.
By a photographer, for photographers.
Four tools that cut 30+ hours of post-wedding admin out of your year — card ingestion, timestamp fixing, gallery syncing, layout previewing. No subscription, no cloud, no faff.
Make them look up.
Hold your phone overhead and a friendly animated character with sound gets every kid — and grown-up — looking straight down the lens. Fully offline. Landing on the Play Store soon.
The studio
Teal in a Box is the independent software studio of Nicholas Teal — a working Yorkshire wedding photographer who kept hitting problems no app would fix properly, so he built the fixes himself.
Every app here started the same way: a genuine problem on a real day, solved overnight, then sharpened until it earned its place. If a screen isn't dead simple, it doesn't ship.
Nothing here came from a roadmap. It came from a wedding, a salon, or a kid who wouldn't look at the camera.
Your clients, your data, your relationships. No middleman renting them back to you, no cut skimmed off the top.
If a working hairdresser or a busy photographer can't use it in seconds, it isn't finished. Simple beats clever.
